Using Different Frames in a Space

In the viewing and ordering session one of the FAQ I get is how to use different frames the best way. Some personalities (and spaces!) lend to use the same frame in a space. Some people will know from the consultation session that they want to use a certain style of frame. If not (no big deal!) we will discuss this at the viewing and ordering session after you’ve made your choices of your favorite photos.

I’m more of a lover of things eclectic. So I love using different styles of frames. I am also a minimalist, can you be a minimal eclectic? Sometimes different gallery designs lend to using different frames. This would be shelves with layering frames, bookcases, extra large spaces where you plan to add on over time, or floor to ceiling galleries look great this way too!

There isn’t a rule to combining different styles but with my new 2021 frames that I’m offering each frame has several different colors that can be combined together. There are several different golds (very popular right now) that can be styled together. Check out the example above for that. Metals and wood frames are hard to style together but if they are different widths then they go together better. For instance a thin metal frame with a chunky wood frame look nice together. Brown wood frames typically look better with the gold frames as opposed to browns with black metals. There is a grey wood frame that looks great with a silver metal frame.

So what does your personality have you like better? What about your space? Do you think your decor lends to a certain look? Same style of frames or different ones styled together?
